ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in Crestview Hills, Done in the Right Order
After hail, high wind or a falling limb, you want to know what is really damaged and what is fine. We check every slope, photograph what we find, explain it in plain words and give you a free estimate before any repair begins.

What Storm Damage Repair Covers
Storm damage is not always easy to see from the driveway. A hailstone can leave a soft spot in an asphalt shingle and strip off the mineral coating that shields it from the sun, while wind can lift a row of tabs just enough to break the seal strip underneath. A roof can look fine for weeks and then start leaking during the next long rain.
When we come out after a storm, we hunt for that hidden damage, point every bit of it out to you and then repair it the right way. Sometimes that means replacing a handful of shingles and a strip of flashing. Sometimes the damage is spread across a whole slope, and a full roof replacement makes more sense. We tell you which one you are looking at and why.
Spring and early summer thunderstorms bring most of the hail and straight-line wind we see around Northern Kentucky, and winter ice can widen any opening a storm left behind. Getting damage looked at soon after a storm keeps a small repair from turning into rotted decking.
What We Handle After a Storm
A full roof walk with photos
We go up on the roof, check every slope and take dated photos of hail hits, creased shingles, lifted tabs and damaged flashing. You get to see exactly what we saw.
Temporary protection when needed
If a limb has opened the roof or shingles are missing, we can cover the area with a secured tarp so water stays out while the repair is planned.
Shingle and flashing repair
We replace damaged shingles, match them as closely as we can and reseal or replace flashing around chimneys, vents and walls. Decking that got wet or cracked is replaced, not covered over.
Gutter and siding checks
Hail dents gutters and downspouts, and wind can crack or loosen siding panels. We note that damage too, so your gutters and siding can be handled in the same plan.
Plain help with the insurance process
We explain what the photos show and what a claim usually involves. Your adjuster makes the coverage decision; we can meet them on the roof and point out what we found.
Signs Your Roof Took Storm Damage
Granules piling up at downspouts
A drift of dark, sandy grit after a hailstorm often means shingles lost their protective layer and will wear out faster.
Shingles in the yard
Even one or two missing shingles leave bare underlayment exposed. Water can get in at the next rain.
Dents on gutters, vents or the AC unit
If soft metal around your home is dented, the roof took the same hits. Those marks are a good reason to have the shingles checked.
New stains on ceilings or in the attic
A brown ring or damp insulation after a storm usually points to a lifted shingle or opened flashing seam.
A limb on or over the roof
Even if nothing looks broken, a heavy branch can crack decking or tear underlayment. Have it looked at before it is moved if you can.
How a Storm Repair Job Runs
- 1
A free inspection and estimate
We set a time to come out and inspect every slope. With your okay, we also step into the attic to look for wet sheathing or daylight. Afterward you get photos and a written estimate with each repair on its own line.
- 2
Talking through your options
We go over what is urgent, what can wait and whether repair or replacement is the honest answer. If you are filing a claim, we explain the next steps and can be there when the adjuster comes.
- 3
Repair day
We protect your landscaping and driveway, remove damaged materials and check the decking underneath. Then we install new underlayment, shingles and flashing where needed, and pull a permit when the work calls for one.
- 4
Cleanup and a final look
We sweep the yard with a magnet for nails, haul away debris and walk you through the finished work with after photos.
What Moves the Cost of Storm Repair
Every storm leaves a different mix of damage, so we price after we have been on the roof. Nothing on your estimate is lumped together; each repair carries its own line and its own price. If insurance is involved, that makes it easy to hold our numbers up against the adjuster's scope.
- How much of the roof is damaged
- A few creased shingles on one slope is a small job. Hail bruising across every slope can mean replacing the whole roof.
- Condition of the decking
- If water got in, soft or delaminated plywood has to be replaced. We cannot know how much until the damaged shingles come off, and we show you before we proceed.
- Matching your shingles
- Older shingle colors and styles may be discontinued. Finding a close match, or deciding how much of a slope to redo, affects the price.
- Pitch, height and access
- Steep roofs, two-story walls and tight lots need more safety setup and time.
Common Questions After a Storm
Something not covered here? (859) 695-2033
Do I need to call my insurance company before you inspect the roof?
Not necessarily. A lot of homeowners like to have us look first, because our photos make it clear whether the storm actually did damage worth claiming. From there you can decide what to do. Whether to file, and what gets covered, is always up to you and your insurer.
Will you work with my insurance adjuster?
Yes. We can meet the adjuster on your roof, show the damage we documented and answer their questions. We do not act as your adjuster or negotiate your policy, but we make sure nothing we found gets missed.
Is a repair enough, or will I need a whole new roof?
That comes down to two things: how far the damage spreads and how worn the roof already was before the storm. When a repair will hold up, that is what we recommend. When hits cover most of the roof, we walk you through why roof replacement is the smarter way to spend your money.
What if the storm hit weeks ago?
It is still worth a look. Hail and wind damage do not go away, and leaks often show up later. Most policies have time limits for claims, so check yours and get the roof inspected while the details are fresh.
Do you serve towns around Crestview Hills?
Yes. We work on homes in Edgewood, Fort Mitchell, Erlanger and the rest of the surrounding area. Our Service Areas page lists more.
